Merging and Stars
Caught a duplicate? That's not a spare, that's progress. Merging feeds copies of a species into one Elemixie to raise its stars, and stars raise its level cap.
What Stars Do
- Every Elemixie starts at 1 star, with a level cap of 10.
- Each star raises the cap by 10: 2 stars is level 20, up to 5 stars and level 50.
- Higher stars also make the creature visibly bigger. A 5-star Elemixie stands a quarter taller than a fresh catch.
How to Merge
- Open your backpack and switch on Merge mode.
- Pick the Elemixie you are building up, then pick duplicates of the same species to feed in.
- Confirm. The duplicates are consumed, their XP flows into your keeper, and its star progress climbs.
You can feed many duplicates in one merge and jump several stars at once. The confirm screen warns you if you have selected more than the next steps need, so nothing is wasted by accident. Merging costs no coins; the duplicates are the price.
Merge Costs
Rarer species need fewer copies per star:
| Rarity | To 2★ | To 3★ | To 4★ | To 5★ | Total Needed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Common | 3 | 5 | 8 | 12 | 29 |
| Uncommon | 2 | 3 | 5 | 7 | 18 |
| Rare | 2 | 2 | 3 | 5 | 13 |
| Epic | 1 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 8 |
| Legendary | 1 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 6 |
| Mythic | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 5 |
The last column counts every copy you'll need, including the one you keep. A 5-star common is a real grind; a 5-star mythic needs five miracles.
Worth Knowing
- Wild Elemixies always arrive at 1 star. Merging is the only way to earn stars.
- Locked Elemixies and busy ones (foraging, training, battling, mixing, trading) cannot be merged either way.
- Merging pairs well with mixing, but mind the star rule: a mix follows the parent with less merge progress, so build stars after mixing, not before.
